The JALv2 compiler

In the last period of time I read and watched carefully the JAL compiler's development, dedicated to building projects with PIC microcontrollers family. JAL name is an acronym which stands for "Just Another Language" and who's syntax - otherwise very intuitive - is closer to the Pascal language.

The original JAL language (also named JAL 0.4x) was built by Wouter van Ooijen. You can see his website at http://www.voti.nl/jal/. JALv2 is a complete re-rewrite of the orignal JAL language by Kyle York. It can be found at http://www.casadeyork.com/jalv2/.

JALv2 (Just Another Language, version 2) is an open source programming language built for programming PIC microcontrollers (designed and produced by Microchip). If electronics is your hobby (or your passion) and you want to learn to program in a high level language, JALv2 is for you!

JALv2 is supported with a large amount of libraries. Jallib is a set of open source JALv2 libraries to make things work. Download our libraries to see what is available.

The compiler is now growing. Meanwhile I made a small development board, I started writing programs ("training programs") using the latest stable version of the compiler and everything went and seems absolutely OK.

At this point I want to design a printed circuit board of a programmer which is based on the PIC 18F14K20. Soon I hope, I'll return with consistent detail.

At the end of this post I would like to thank to the remarkable team of developers for their nice work and their generous contribution!
